<NancyG/MICHAEL> We are here. We have some words on the meaning of life. Is that not a simple thought?

Think about it. You breath, you think, you move. Life rolls over and around and in you from the moment you open your eyes each day until your last conscious second. But what about the rest of the time? Are you not alive while you sleep? Are you not conscious while you are unconscious? Therefore, there is no second of life in which you are not 'alive'. And then what does it matter? In describing what life really is, there is a vast fullness that exists both within each one of you which holds every hope and desire and event that you can imagine.

Besides these, which are part of your knowing, there is another vastness that you are often unaware of. This is the realm of your SELF, the spark of the Tao, the connection to All That Is. It becomes a center wrapped in a cloak of fruitfulness, like the seed within its shell. Meaning comes with knowing. Knowing comes with wakefulness. You are ones who know that they are alive. Those who coast through each lifetime in the waking sleep have no sense of this awareness.

But what difference does it make to a fragment to be aware? Only this: That the greater sense of consciousness that it has of itself, the more fully does the evolution of the soul towards agape unfold.

We have said that even those who spend their whole cycle in the waking sleep will eventually cycle off. This is a truth. Then what purpose is there in nurturing awareness, in living a waking wake? It is the reward of Knowing, the soul's satisfaction, the energy of love. It is the experience of Truth. No one must climb aboard this train. But if one wishes to, as all of you have done, the experience is itself the object. There is a longing among those who have become knowers, a longing for more truth, more knowing. And this is what it means to be alive.

<BarbaraLea> What past life experience, karmic ribbons or agreements do I have with Tara N?

<NancyG/MICHAEL> There is between these two fragments a monad of helper and helpless one. Within the monad there is also an agreement to accomplish a certain side issue. That is for each to experience both sides of the monad together.

This is an unusual arrangement. Usually one fragment takes one side of a monad and the other takes the other side. In this instance they each struggle to be in both parts of the monad simultaneously. The one is in need of assistance, the helpless one. The helper provides that assistance. But at the same time the helper is in need of being needed and the 'helpless one' can provide the answer to this need. This is different from the monad which establishes one fragment as one half and the other as the complement.

<yy2> How many more unfinished life tasks do I have in this remaining life? What are those tasks?

<NancyG/MICHAEL> This fragment has set for herself five primary tasks for this life. Four of them have been completed. This last task has been part of her whole life: To understand her place in this lifetime. She has made good use of her study of this task and appears to be nearing completion of it.

<Darleene> Hi Nancy, Michael... I'd like to ask what Michael can tell me of my last couple of past lives...

<NancyG/MICHAEL> Both lives preceding this one were really one. That is, the second was a completion of the first. The first life was as a male, second son of a farmer in what is known as the Ukraine during the early part of the last century. The life of this male was cut short through an accident involving a scythe. The next life, following closely upon the death of the boy at age 16, was designed to pick up where the first left off. The fragment incarnated as the son of the sister of his former mother, finishing the tasks and agreements decided on.

This incarnation lasted 57 years, accomplishing most of the objectives for that life, and was a satisfactory ending for the fragment.

<NancyG/MICHAEL> The fragment Helen had no difficulty adjusting to her entrance onto the astral plane. She has enjoyed meeting her twin and many of her greater cadence and entity. She is currently involved in exploring a number of ways which she can structure her next life. And yes, she is having a ball doing this.

<Geraldine> Hello, Michael and Nancy. I would like to know about my first incarnation as Mature 1st Level. When was it, where, who was I, etc. Last month I asked about my 1st incarnation as Old Soul, Level 1; but I neglected to ask "when" and Mongolian history is long; so, if possible I'd like that clarified, too.

<NancyG/MICHAEL> This fragment's first incarnation as a first level Mature soul was lived in the desert of the area known later as Palestine. A female of a Bedouin family, the greatest concern for this fragment and her family was staying out of the way of the warring armies of the late 12th Century, known as the Crusades. She lived to bear three children and died giving birth to the last, age 19.

The Old Soul was born into a Mongolian tribe in the early 18th Century. Apparently nomadic life has been an attraction for this fragment. Over the cycle of lives she has chosen this form of incarnation more than 30 times.

<aditi> It feels as if there’s some kind of block that’s preventing my romantic life from progressing. Could you point me in the direction of figuring out what it might be?

<NancyG/MICHAEL> The mating agreements which this fragment has require that both parties to the agreement be available and interested in honoring the agreement. This has not been the case in this instance. We suggest that patience is needed here. There has not yet been a fully consenting partner to the agreement. Many elements conspire to thwart fulfillment of such agreements, not the least of which is availability. Without both fragments being in the same place, both physically and emotionally, at the same time, mating is compromised. We doubt that there is any so-called 'block', actually. Only a mismatched calendar. A scheduling problem. (Michael is smiling)

<NancyG/MICHAEL> This fragment's relocation to the country of choice rests on two realities: one is the draw back to a well-known situation from the past, and the other is the opportunity to be where needed at the moment. The challenges will be to enter into the responsibilities of the latter while at the same time exploring the former.

As for lessons, Essence is enjoying every choice this fragment is making. The lessons arrive as the challenges are met. Perhaps the most obvious one currently is watching rather than doing. The time will come when doing is paramount, but for now, observation is the key.

<NancyG/MICHAEL> We see a situation involving abrasive overleaves which have created personalities which do not have much in common. There is always the opportunity in this case for the fragments to transcend their physical plane obstacles and control false personality to the extent that they can work out differences. We suggest that good will and a sincere effort to overcome the boulders of Chief Feature may offer the peace and understanding that is currently absent.

This takes effort and patience, the work of the soul. There is no karma involved here. These two fragments have no past lives impinging on this one.

We have said that the probability that the relationship in this life is reliable and permanent is less than even. This has no bearing from the past. It is product of this life's experiences coupled with the man Douglass's choice of overleaves.

<NancyG/MICHAEL> Each fragment can make any choice work toward the fulfillment of a given life. We remind you all that we do not predict the outcome of choices in any specific way. The paths that offer fulfillment for a Sage in Essence are many. Expand your search for the path you wish to follow by finding out all there is to know about things you are interested in. Sages enjoy performing, but sometimes forget that many other professionals 'perform', not only actors. Every teacher who stands before a classroom performs. Salesmen perform, people in public relations perform and have a venue for getting their voices heard.

Spend time within the self, exploring that which draws the mind and heart. Spend energy asking others in areas that attract how to get into these positions. Only when these avenues have been trod can a satisfactory placement result.

<NancyG/MICHAEL> This fragment is confusing a pull toward sharing information that comes from study and experience with that which comes from another plane. We would say that her very helpful attempts to bring information to others can be appreciated and explored. However, at this time there is no agreement as such to be a medium.

If mediumship is desired, we suggest serious attention to meditation and contact with guides to start with and practicing that connection. If this results in the experience of knowing that there is energy being transmitted between the fragment and the guides, then further exploration can be undertaken.

<NancyG/MICHAEL> Along with the viral attack, we also see a the need for an antibiotic to tend to the other infection. It will probably be necessary to consult a physician, yes.

<NancyG/MICHAEL> The male child who is the fragment's grandson has no special needs at this time. Born into a family which has agreed to raise him, he requires only the ordinary support through childhood and young years. His future will unfold as his years do, with no particular effort needed on anyone's part to support or hasten it.

As for the mother of this child, her connection to the fragment appears to be benign. We do not see any need for comment here.

The male, father of the child, has accepted responsibility for his position in this family. Other than that, we do not see where advice is required, either.

<NancyG/MICHAEL> Essence does not have a favorite lifetime. Every life is a new adventure for Essence whose only interest is gathering experience.

One lifetime that enveloped the sharing of spiritual energy with others was lived in the Mayan culture of what is now known as Central America. This fragment was one of the shamans attached to a village temple. Temple worship was a very public extravaganza in the royal city, but each village had a local one which was maintained by priests/shamans. We see this lifetime as having been lived in the years ending the 12th Century and into the 13th.

<Robinette> In a previous chat Michael told me of a past life as a Cossack, and trust issues developed when I was hired by a woman where a relationship of sorts created leading ti these trust issues I still carry today. My question then would be what were the circumstances of the situation and how that life ended.

<NancyG/MICHAEL> The Cossack life of this fragment was one of carefree adventure and irresponsibility. His tendency to 'love them and leave them' was not readily accepted by a woman of means who offered him a more stable life. Although he made promises to her, he expected to follow his pattern and was astonished by her reaction to his declaration that he was moving on. The parting was violent and destructive to both. We see this pattern of less than serious involvement leaving a residue that is experienced as 'a trust issue'. It is a residue of the fragment experiencing her former inability to commit, not that her trust has been violated.

The warrior died in battle, as he expected to do, at the age of 47, a somewhat longer life, given the circumstances, than might have been projected.

<NancyG/MICHAEL> The woman Ekaterina's partner has come into her life without an agreement to do so. We remind you all that not every mating is by agreement nor is every agreement honored. You can see, if you give it some thought, that if everyone who is important to your life is by agreement that there would soon be a kind of boredom built into incarnations. The ad hoc friendships, matings, meetings add spice to lives and establish additions to the pool of possible future agreements.

The man D. is such a one. What these two fragments make of their attachment will decide whether both will want to make agreements in future lives. We do see compatible body types, non-abrasive overleaves, and a tendency on both sides to relish the relationship. All of this offers the possibility for a satisfying mating.
