Frankly, I do not understand some of your remarks, but it seems like you do not understand some of my remarks either. This gives me some impetus to elaborate a little. You might want to elaborate on your perceptions also. "Hogwash" is not very definitive. Following are some comments about elements of your remarks on what in philosophy and in theology is called "the problem of evil" and/or "the problem of suffering". Seth's statement that "you create your own reality" bothers me too. I think it is misleading if one does not also say, "you are created by reality", and then go on to explain that so much of the proper understanding of these statements hinges on the definition of "you". Who does that "you" refer to -- your parallel lifetimes, your past lifetimes, your future lifetimes, your subpersonalities, your false personality, your true personality, your soul, your cadence, your entity, your cadre? All of these are "you" in different "strata" of space and time and plane. It has been a long time since I read the Seth books, and I do not remember if he went into the subject of stratification. I think the concept of stratification is fundamental to resolving the various apparent paradoxes and unfairnesses in our experience. (In a future posting I will derive of the concept of strata from the assumption of a conscious cosmos.) As I understand self-karma, the personality itself -- not just the soul -- does eventually experience "benefit" in exchange for "detriment" -- being "victimized" by the soul. I suppose often the "benefit" comes later in the lifetime in which it experienced the "detriment," but perhaps more often in a "future" lifetime. In other words, the personality is only "victimized" by the soul by a "self-karma" for a duration of "time". The "justification" for the "victimization" for the personality comes "later" when the personality experiences the rebound from the negative pole of the experience to the positive pole on its way to "balance" at the next strata of experience. The soul knows this even when the personality does not. Michael has said -- and I agree based on my understanding of physics (Newton: "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction") -- that karmic action on the physical plane generally has to be balanced or neutralized by a re-action on the physical plane. Self-karma is like regular karma in that, among sentient beings, there can be a displacement in the re-action in space/time, unlike the instantaneous reaction among non-sentient things. From the point of view of the soul -- which exists and functions primarily outside of space/time -- the reaction looks "simultaneous". From my Christian days I know that their theologians postulate a "judgment day" of one sort or another to eventually balance the scales of justice and make everything fair and right. This is just another variation of the self-evident (scientific as well as theological) truth that the cosmos is balanced (One) overall, but imbalances (Two) exist and happen in strata of space time and plane. In fact, "experience" is nothing but imbalances, and some of these are extremely unpleasant. With their teachings on "interpersonal monads" Michael seems to me to say that even if there was no "bad" interpersonal karma -- people infinging on each others choices -- souls would make agreements to do some very unpleasant things to each other. The victim-and-victimizer interpersonal entanglement is one example that they mention. It makes sense to me that the soul could also choose for its incarnate personality to experience a "self-karma" of "victimization" via the chief feature of martyrdom or via birth into a defeating situation. I resisted and resented this notion for a long time myself (I do not enjoy my suffering or that of other), but I have come to understand that this is necessary and there is no sense or value in railing against the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. So why is it that some aspects of "ourselves" choose unpleasant things for other aspects of "ourselves" to experience? (BTW, it works both ways: sometimes the soul has to put up with the personality abdicating the soul's choices for the life, and sometimes it is vice versa. There is "tough shit" all around. From the point of view of consciousness on a particular strata, all the other strata "impose" some of their choices on that strata. Whether you like it or not, this is the way the stratified cosmos exists and functions.) Well, if I understand the implications of Two correctly, then that which is experienced as agony from one point of view is experienced as ecstasy from the opposite point of view, and vice versa. The cosmos as a whole -- the One -- is always balanced in terms of the agony/ecstasy axis and all other axes of Two. But as the One produced the Two and the Two produced the Three, the agony/ecstasy dichotomy appeared. It is a feature in a cosmos derived from consciousness and it cannot be any other way. Our human consciousness is not One or Three. We partake of Two, and we experience agony as distinct from ecstasy for the same ultimate reason that two objects cannot occupy the same place at the same time. In many ways, it is only in the distant "future" of our evolution from the lower (ordinal) planes into the higher (cardinal) planes that we will experience the opposite of the suffering we experience here. (And then of course the process will go the other way again because ecstasy will turn into agony.) However, you realize that your essence "already" experiences consciousness in the cardinal realm of consciousness, so it is "already" ecstatic about your personal agony. Many find this concept to be extremely unpleasant. I hope this philosophical exposition does not seem to trivialize the suffering we all experience, but the teaching is -- and I am inclined to believe it based on my understanding of physics and metaphysics -- that our physical plane experience is way toward the agony end of the agony/ecstasy axis. Perhaps sometime "before" "you", the "created", evolves to become the "creator", you will see the "necessity" of this. I think it would ease "your" suffering "here-now" if "you" saw things the same way the cosmos sees it and stop resisting or insisting that it be some other way. You will probably intuitively perceive that this is not a complete solution to "the problem of suffering" and you will be correct. There is a lot more to say on this subject, but this heat wave has sapped my energy and motivation to continue for now. Philbert Tao produced the One. Once taken into the aura, they must be played out in the manifest earth world. Thus, the bible and other power books teach that your words have energy and thus manifestation capability. What is housed in the aura becomes the reality in which you work and play. Sexual energy is the next closest energy to GOD because of its creational potential, yet it is the energy which keeps us in bondage to the base chakra and survival mentality. So, the sexual partners which one interacts with allow the energy from the partner's auric shield to penetrate and enact in your aura. The aura is the dirty garment which the bible speaks of and is in fact your reality meter. Thus, the words of "I can't," words spoken against another, the harm that we do to each other and the animal kingdom, all those things live in the auric shield and manifest in our lives. If mankind would TODAY, just try to deal with the KARMA of this day and post only CLEAN/LOVE ENERGY to the AURIC COMPUTER, we would start living in a very different world day-by-glorious-day. We can't worry, in this time frame, about the next lifetime and that karmic debt, if we can't worry about the endless days which stretch ahead of us in this lifetime. Your words have power and they carry a symbol which buries itself into the aura, which in turn magnetizes that energy to your life experience. And if that doesn't suffice, toss in Carson McCullers "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter," and perhaps some Thoreau, Sylvia Plath, Faulkner, and William Styron. He also said that in learning to know the ETERNAL MOTHER, we would find ourselves enveloped by her MATERNAL FULLNESS which englobes the entire UNIVERSE. And why not? Why shouldn't women today revive the WORSHIP OF THE MOTHER, which in fact, is reserved especially for them? Why shouldn't they rediscover, respecting a certain discipline, these specific rituals? WHY NOT, since most of the traditional Churches and spiritual groups, which are very masculine do not accept women to their PRIESTHOOD and often in their occult groups. Nowadays we can speak more openly about a FEMININE PRIESTHOOD. This does not shock people now as much as it did only 20 or 50 years ago. At that time it was absolutely scandalous. A priesthood for women had been proposed and considered, unfortunately not from a feminine point of view which is that of the WORSHIP OF THE MOTHER, but rather from a masculine view, which is that of the WORSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH in 1971. It is apparent that the actual POPE - JEAN PAUL II - is not in accord with this way of thinking. On his last voyage to America, the POPE replied to SISTER THERESA KANE, who dared petition him to allow women to be ordained, by saying: "Be careful! Or you will all be obliged to go back to wearing the traditional long black dress!" The Protestant Churches seem to be less short sighted in this matter. Many women have been ordained MINISTERS. They are quite dignified and respected in Protestant countries such as Norway, Sweden, Holland, and France. It is undeniable that there are still many obstacles to be overcome on the path to a FEMININE PRIESTHOOD, specifically in theological, historical and traditional matters, as we shall see. Our civilization - as advanced as it may be - is still deeply attached to the morals and values of the Judeo-Christian tradition. The myth of Adam and Eve, totally misunderstood, weighs heavily on the stature of all women. We can still hear these words, from Genesis 3:16, spoken by the angry God of that time: "I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception. In sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." This was the first law beginning male supremacy. In the New Testament we find: "Let woman learn in silence with all subjection. I will not suffer a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man...etc. (Timothy 1:2 , 2:14) And St. Paul who said: "I want you to know... The lord of every man is Christ, the Lord of every woman is man." And for Mohammed, he declared, "When Eve was created, Satan rejoiced." The Jews thank the Lord every morning not to have been born as women! After these myths, these words given to men by a God from another era, or by so called INSPIRED PROPHETS, it seems quite normal for the Church to consider women as exclusively sensual creatures without Souls. But the times have changed, the times are changing... We witness helplessly today the defeat of our great Christian civilization, which risks to be overpowered by a growing materialism that seems to be growing more and more each day, rejecting in it's wake all religious thoughts, ideals, and morals. Drug abuse, sexual perversion and violence crush everything that is beautiful and pure..... At a time when any excuse will do to throw away all sense of responsibility; at a time when depression, discouragement of not despair and suicide enslave man, along with violence, hold-ups and debauchery; it is more than necessary, even indispensable to show the feminine side of today's masculine religions as well as other parallel feminine movements be they philosophical or spiritual. It is right for women to look back into the past to study the roles that she has played throughout the history of mankind. Let us look now more closely into the past Cults of The Divine Mother since it was almost exclusively celebrated by women. To begin with, WHO IS THE DIVINE MOTHER? H.P.Blavatsky speaks of Her in the first stanza of the Secret Doctrine, and joins Her name to that of the Father, thus making the ETERNAL FATHER/MOTHER, the first Divine Couple indispensable for the creation of the UNIVERSE. The MOTHER is one of the fundamental prototypes - if not the most important. The MOTHER is the nourishing womb from which all is made, and to which all returns. The MOTHER is infinite space, the tree of LIFE, the complimentary pole of the FATHER. By all this, we can see the true and Universal Dimensions of the MOTHER, the QUEEN of the Cosmos, and Mother of GOD! DEVI MAHATMYA, a disciple of this great MOTHER, sings of HER in these terms: "You are ETERNAL ESSENCE Yes, the MOTHER identifies herself to the Universe, to the creative force, to the Mahasmakti. She is the Power of Execution of the FATHER, to whom she is FOREVER UNITED. Another disciple of the MOTHER - MAHAKALA SAMHATA wrote this to describe HER: "YOU are not a girl, nor a virgin, nor a woman, not young, not old. The MOTHER OF THE UNIVERSE, the MAHASHAKTI, is given to functions of transmitting the consciousness of BRAHMAN - of the DIVINE - the ENERGY of INTELLIGENT MOVEMENT to all matter. This ENERGY, this great MOTHER, eternally penetrates the UNIVERSE. She is also the path of return always offered to the consciousness that climb to infinity. The PRIMORDIAL MOTHER, the GODDESS WHO IS UNITY, becomes many, the Uncountable. She has a thousand names, each according to Divine aspect that She represents. Nevertheless, She is UNITY ITSELF - the MOTHER! "When I think of the HIGHEST BEING, not creating, nor conceiving or destroying, I call him - BRAHMAN or PURUSHA, the impersonal God," says RAMAKRISHNA. When I think of HIM as active, creating, conserving, and destroying, I call him SHAKTIMAYA or PRAKRITI, the personal God. But the difference between them do not matter. The DIVINE MOTHER and BRAHMAN are ONE. This is the GREAT MOTHER, the DIVINE MOTHER in Her true and limitless dimensions - such as She is presented to our interior view by the era of AQUARIUS. Man who has now surpassed the frontiers of our planet, can no longer ignore the limitlessness of the MOTHER. Let us now look at the WORSHIP OF THE MOTHER, as it was in the past. Archaeology shows us that the GREAT MOTHER was worshiped before the neolithic era (7,000 B.C.) and some historians go as far back as the paleolithic Era (25,000 B.C.) From the beginning of the historical period, and even at the neolithic Era, it seems that the MONARCHY (which according the Frazer is a DIVINE RIGHT) was represented by a Great Priestess at the Head of State. Archaeology has equally stated that the first laws, governments, the art of medicine, architecture and metal work, as well as vehicles with wheels, weaving and writing, were first developed in MATRIARCHAL SOCIETIES - those who worshiped the Goddess as CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE. But, to our dismay, most of the documents and objects concerning these great FEMININE RELIGIONS, most of which lasted thousands of years, long before the Jews, Greeks or the Christians, are hidden in obscure archaeological texts, or in inaccessible libraries, most of them closed to the public, such as the Vatican library in Rome. On the other hand, the translators of these ancient texts always employed the work DIVINITY in the FEMININE TENSE, for everything that had to do with the GODDESSES or the PRIESTESSES of the MOTHER. Few historians have ever gone beyond the assimilation of the feminine tense, with anything else than fertility. But, nowadays it has been accepted as a fact that the ancient Priestesses of the TEMPLES, guided the DESTINY OF NATIONS. They were also HEALERS (mostly by magnetism and chromotherapy), prophets and courageous warriors. It was these WOMEN who founded the WORSHIP to the ancestors, and they were the first to have the biological sensations from invisible beings and things. In the WORSHIP OF THE FEMININE PERSONALITY and for the PRIESTESSES, SEX was considered to be a gift from the GODDESS to HUMANITY, it was sacred and very respected. The SUN was often considered to be an ACTIVE GOD, while the MOON was the FEMALE aspect of this same God, and was PASSIVE. Yet in some of the very ancient countries, such as in AUSTRALIA, with the ESKIMOS, and particularly with the KASSIS OF INDIA, there still exists legends of the GODDESS OF THE SUN, being the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE. In ancient EGYPT, until the 18th DYNASTY (1570 - 1300 B.C.), women were considered to be equal to men. The QUEENS reigned side-by-side with their HUSBANDSwhen rendering JUSTICE; they even replaced them in their absence. It is written that at the beginning of the DYNASTIC PERIOD, 61 PRIESTESSES and only 18 PRIESTS served the GODDESS MOTHER - avatar of Isis - while NEITH was served exclusively by Priestesses. The MYSTERIES OF ISIS are, it is said, the foundation of all the essential MYSTERIES that were later to spread through other civilized countries. From EGYPT, they spread to GREECE, and inspired the teachings of ORPHEA and of PYTHAGORAS - those of the CABBIRES OF CYPRUS, those of JUPITER, in CRETE those of MITHRA, of BACCHUS and of CERES in GREECE. In SEMURIE, many women were PRIESTESSES consecrated to the GREAT GODDESS, the DIVINE MOTHER. There were also PRIESTESSES in ASSYRIA, in PHOENICIA and in ANATOLIA, as well as in ROME and in GAUL. There were also SCRIBES and HOUSING AGENTS. In CRETE, the PRIESTESSES were considered as the INTERMEDIARIES between the DIVINITIES and the PEOPLE. The GENERAL MOTHER-PRIESTESS, personified the DIVINE MOTHER. In the MUSEUMS of ATHENS, there is a figure of the DIVINE MOTHER and Her PRIESTESSES in adoration. One of the first FEMININE SOCIETIES was founded at OLYMPIA - and the WORSHIP OF THE DIVINE MOTHER was celebrated exclusively by the PRIESTESSESS OF THE TEMPLES. One can still see, under the statue of CHRIST, over the central gate of NOTRE-DAME de PARIS, built over an ancient TEMPLE dedicated to ISIS, CIBELE holding two books, one of them opened, and the other closed. The symbolism of which means, that she held EXOTERIC AND ESOTERIC KNOWLEDGE. I have recently learned that the town of EZE SUR MER, in the maritime ALPS, has the motto "ISIS MORIENDO RENASCO", meaning the RESURRECTION through the MYSTERIES of ISIS. The name of EZE , comes from ISIS. It is not surprising that FRANCE has been the place of predilection for the apparitions of the VIRGIN, as well as the revival of the CULTS TO THE MOTHER, and the WORSHIP TO OUR LADY (Notre-Dame). I will not spend any more time on this subject of the long gone past. Those of you who would like to have more ample documentation on this subject as well as more details - especially women - you may find them in such recent book as WHEN GOD WAS A WOMAN by MERLIN STONE. The subtitle of this book is "TOWARDS THE DISCOVERY OF THE GREAT GODDESS, SOURCE OF POWER FOR ALL WOMEN". I am absolutely not a feminist as you may think after this lecture. And I will not give any publicity for any of the books published recently, mostly by revolted women seeking excuses for their arrogance and their sexism. I shall also have to pass silently over the cults to the MOTHER and the rituals offered to the SOPHIA of the GNOSTICS, as I have not the time to do so. I shall simply mention the existence of "LA DAME des CATHARES", so beautifully sung of by the BARDS and TROUBADORES, as well as the MYTHS OF BEATRICE and so many others. At what moment, and for what reason was the ETERNAL FEMININE ABASED and REPLACED by the ETERNAL MASCULINE? ARCHAEOLOGY, MYTHOLOGY and HISTORY itself prove that the adepts of the new religions of the time, imposed masculine GODS, about 3,000 years before CHRIST. In reality, it seems that the FEMININE RELIGIONS were absorbed progressively into the panoply of the masculine GODS. and these GODS finally overpowered everything in their wake. It is also said that from INDIA started a chain of SAGES OF THE NORTH (Shamballa) which spread in GREECE...but they were killed. So it was decided at that time, that HUMANITY will not be helped for a long time. But this community of MEN and WOMEN is still alive, as we know. It has been ever since this time that the INITIATIC HIERARCHY became almost always the work of MEN, and the PATRIARCH - which is still in vigor - was installed. From then on, women were said to be inferior as same as the GODDESSES. But some courageous women as equal to their masculine companions created on the physical plane a FEMININE HIERARCHY as well as FEMININE SECRET SOCIETIES, which had a hard time trying to progress ever since. This Feminine Hierarchy corresponds and is in touch with the occult one. In the secret and sacred teaching of INDIA, there is a mention about the WHITE FEMININE HIERARCHY, which was composed of the same number of MASTERS as the HIERARCHY OF OUR SAINTLY MASTERS, that we all know. This HIERARCHY was held very secret, but now it may be revealed, and certain members are well known. THESE WOMEN-MASTERS represent all the SEVEN RAYS we know. In INDIA, from the 6th RAY, we have MA ANANDA MAY - SISTER KRISHNABAI, Sister PALMO (Friend of RUKMINI DEVI. I met her at ADYAR!), Sister THERESA and many others. But now it is mostly in the political domain, that these EMINENT LADIES work for this Earth. The VIRGIN MARY is the Heart and Soul of the FEMININE HIERARCHY on this planet. The FEMININE SECRET SOCIETIES and the FEMININE SACERDOCE, dedicated to the MOTHER OF THE WORLD, and equally to the CHRIST (for example the women PRIESTS ordained in AMERICA by a BISHOP) are very discrete or totally secret. It has only been since the last WORLD WAR, that we can speak openly of the feminine Masonic Lodges in FRANCE, SWITZERLAND and some other countries, and of MARTINISM , which though originally open for some women became very masculine oriented in some of it branches, mostly in France. Whereas in other branches, in HOLLAND and in BELGIUM, certain WOMEN have been initiated equally into its rites. Other FEMININE SECRET SOCIETIES have been established since then but they are not well known. Of course, a masculine AUTHORITY is always employed and very often imposed over women in most of the mixed groups - it is almost always MEN that direct them. WOMEN, because of their EDUCATION, are accustomed to consider MAN as superior, and it is the WOMEN THEMSELVES, who generally elect men to the DIRECTION. HOWEVER, more and more often, WOMAN is being conscious of her personality, of her force, and of her duty towards her companion, as well as towards everything that touches wellbeing: in politics, education, in arts and science, and not only on a family scale, but also on a planetary scale. Women must realize herself in the present and in the future. There is no HIGHER PRIVILEGES for a woman as well as for HUMANITY, than that of well understanding her role, not only socially, but also spiritually. In venerating the MOTHER, in consecrating oneself to HER SERVICE, it is permitted for WOMEN, not only to reach the knowledge reserved until now exclusively for men, but also to gradually climb the rungs of the INITIATIC SCALE, as well as to be able to accede to the FEMININE PRIESTHOOD, such as it existed in the past. The MASTER KOOTHUMI, in one of His letters addressed to DAMODAR, as it is given in the book "DAMODAR AND THE PIONEERS OF THE THEOSOPHICAL MOVEMENT", said that a woman, as well as a man, could be initiated and participate in the DIVINE MYSTERIES, but He adds, "This is more difficult for her than for a man, on account of her position". This is true, and the time has not yet come when WOMAN acts of her own free will. But if a woman, on account of her position has more difficulties than man, to be able to fulfill the required condition then she has the more merit! Lady EMILY, a Theosophist of the nineteen-fifties wrote on this subject, "EVERY WOMAN, by reason of her sex, is a HIGH PRIEST WITH GOD - PRIEST of that OLDEST of all religions, the great MYSTERY RELIGION of Creation. It is the function of the PRIEST to transmute the lower in to the HIGHER; to consecrate the outward visible signs that they may better show forth the inward spiritual grace. WOMAN is the transmuter of the UNIVERSE, and in that she is forever fulfilling her PRIESTLY OFFICE." "She is the guardian of the LIFE FORCE of the world, building them into forms if BEAUTY. Her contribution to the world should be that of ever changing, ever transmuting, ever working towards the perfection of the forms, through which the life-force works. she should look on every question from the standpoint of LIFE, and its expression. I think this is a very good statement to use in understanding this issue. To further draw the example -- in this lifetime I have chosen to deal almost exclusively with self-karmas and here is one of them: In the mid 18th century I was the wife of a baker in Lusanne, France. The baker died and I was left with three small children to raise. I managed to continue the business but lived in fear that what was left of my family could be turned out on the street at any time. This aggravated a cf of greed in that lifetime. When times got bad in that area, and many people went hungry, instead of sharing what I had (which was considerable as the main source of baking in that area), my fear (and cf) led me to hoard the supplies. No one died as a consequence of my actions, no choices were obstructed and so no karma with others was created but there were issues of faith (the interconnectedness of all things), compassion and sharing/giving that were short-changed in that life. In many ways I think that that life may well have been set up to give me the opportunity of growth in these very areas and that failing to do so created a situation of failure to keep a promise to myself -- hence the need to "un-choose", as Phil says, the choices that were made. All lessons/choices to be sure, but not quite learned and, obviously, personality ran the show in some seriously negative poles. So in this lifetime [and I am at 5th level old, second lifetime] I have made some interesting life choices in order to emphasize those things that were left in an "uncomplete" condition. First and foremost, I chose a Jovial bodytype. Being fat has an interesting set of perceptions, from both within and without, that revolve around "greed". Many of the people in my family have continually drawn from me either money or time or both for most of my life -- giving me an opportunity to watch greed/selfishness from the other side of the fence. I think of this; that what I've found is that since I've recognized the self-karma involved, the lessons as set up and then executed as something "I" designed and therefor control, that I no longer *call* these lessons of greed/sharing/faith into my life. Until I came to this point, and could love myself for the choices I made and lessons I learned, there were always fragments around who were willing to continue to help me learn and grow in these directions. At the same time, all of this self-karma aided the bigger pictures in my life. One is my task, which is to disseminate my perspective. Well, perspective is one of the things that I now possess in overwheming quantity. To learn to love myself down to the last pound has also given me the ability to love others in the same unconditional way. To realize that in "giving" freely I receive back something equal, though intangible, in return. It may well lead to things in the future that I cannot yet perceive. I would ask you to consider your task in this life, and/or your pillars, and see what self karma has done to help you grow in those directions... to fight for understanding of what "abandonment" has taught as a lesson and identify whether or not you continue to need to work on those lessons. Look at the word "fear" and read "chief feature" instead and see what's being fed on in that situation. I don't know, only you will. Her response and mine bear not only on "the problem of suffering" but the "problem" of the chief feature and the "problem" of the negative poles. The perennial philosophy teaches tht the proper way to transmute the negative through the positive to the neutral at the next higher strata is to experience the negative fully and completely rather than fighting it. The more of this one chooses to do in their here and now - regardless of what strata of space, time or plane their consciousness is imbedded in -- the less they have to agonize in the wherever and whenever until they get the point (agape). At the point of agape, one becomes immune to that particular polarity. It is then no longer an "issue". Carl Jung or somebody called this "integrating the shadow". Regards symmetry: Barry, briefly stated, I believe the pure abstract archetypes have a pattern that is symmetrical, and this is reflected in my "space" and "time" structure charts showing arrangements of the overleaves. I have not yet developed my pet theory far enough to convince others, but I suspect that the inanimate cosmos of physics and mathematics follows this pattern. This symmetrical, lawful, orderly realm is the "personality" of the cosmos, you might say. It provides the "playground", you might say, of conscious beings. However, I believe all conscious experience in the playground is the result of asymmetry. In metaphysical terms, it is the Creator experiencing Itself "as if" it were not Itself; that is, in piecemeal and distorted (asymmetrical) fashion. The Tao has provided the pure abstract archetypes as the symmetrical template of all experience, but conscious beings can toy with it. Scholars and non-scholars alike can appreciate an arbitrary experiment: "Let's see what happens when we do this!" Then they proceed to "break the rules." In my opinion, this is what makes the "game" of life worth playing out. I am making this up as I go, so I may tell you more about that in later postings as it comes to mind. I appreciate the feedback I get from you folks, as it evokes further insights. 3. Regards Phil rethinking the teaching: Barry, I am not the only one. At the AMT conference in San Francisco last November, and at the Pivotal Resources seminar in Santa Fe in June, the channels told us that there is a lot of new material in the Michael pipeline, on its way to us now and in coming phases of the development of this teaching. I am not a channel, but I seem to be in touch with some higher centers, and it is becoming increasingly difficult for me -- in spite of my shy, introverted nature -- not to say what I see. Not only is the teaching incomplete by a long shot, but as everyone knows, because of the normal human fallibility and bias of the channels there is contradiction and there is ambiguity and there is error in some portions of what we have been given so far. My particular perception is that there is also a deeper, higher level of understanding of the very good information that we have been given so far. 4. Please be kind to Dr Damasco. He says he had a near-death experience. I have encountered personally and media-wise several people who have had this experience. I myself have had something vaguely similar, mild mystical and spiritual experiences in the higher centers. This sort of experience changes your perceptions big time. When you have looked beyond the veil and lived to tell the tale, it is difficult not to be evangelical about the glories on the other side. It is also hard not to sound like a nut, because things are way different over there, and things don't translate well between the two realms. He is trying to verbalize his experience in the terminology of his particular physical plane knowledge. I am a trouble maker by default somehow and know this position all too well. You cannot protect the DR. from the opinions of other people! You are forgetting that squashing the OPPOSING viewpoints is what many of us have endured for centuries. It is NOT that he isn't welcome, or that his words are annoying (so much), but that THIS IS A MICHAEL LIST. That's all. And for that lurker who wrote in all caps about our attacking the DR. and our acceptance being somehow exclusive, the post said more about the person who posted it than the list members anyway. Welcome to the Michael Teaching. I'm sure that each one of us has a unique purpose in coming to this teaching. I have found this teaching useful for self acceptance. That includes accepting my chief feature demons as well as the many other parts of my present personality.

From the point of view of some Michael Students, an attack can be a valuable tool in piecing together the many parts of the self. Many of us like to look closely at what is offending us. When I come across an offensive post I usually delete it but Jody chose to express her offense. The only difference is my reaction was passive and hers was active. She chose to share her feelings and I chose to put them aside. Is it better to pretend I love someone or outwardly express my anger, or in this case, express a minor irritation?

Jody has made many intelligent posts on this board. I don't think any of us believe that her purpose is to ridicule anyone. Most of us use this post to share our ideas and thoughts about the Michael Teaching. I think in this case, Dr. Damasco's revelations have little to do with the Michael Teaching as it stands today.

A loving thought would have to be generated from love rather than vice versa. Thinking the word love or speaking it in pretense gives the word no power. When we are within the space of agape then our actions speak of agape. There is no deliberation, no forethought, no planned action of any kind. I simply am the love and the love is expressiong Itself throught another body/personality. It cannot be forced out. We can only surrender to it. We arrive then to our beloved origin through the good old work of self study and self observation or whatever path we have chosen this lifetime. All is valuable. Thanks for the compliments, Jody. I feel that I'm no where near cycling off... at least not before December of 2012, which is the end of the Mayan calendar. I do have the deep feeling that if I can keep my body healthy enough I can make it to the ripe young age of 132 during the year 2070. Plus I expect that by then I will be able to transform my physical body at will, and take it with me to whatever non-physical level I choose to ascend to. That way I can return to physicality whenever I so desire without having to come through a birth canal and suffer through another childhood. Plus... part of me would like to be like Robert Heinlein's "Lazarus Long". Plus... I also know now that I can leave any time I want to, and that I did not really have to incarnate at all this time. I did, though, to play with creating an ideal material life for myself in response to a question put to the akashic about how this can be done. It's part of my job as an Akashic Orderly to find answers to questions in the akashic, or to create those answers when the akashic does not have them. I am curious too, not only about the experience of one's soul age, but about people's experience of their overleaves. Would anyone be willing to share their experiences? I guess it is my Artisan nature, but I understand things much better if I can visualize it. For instance, I have a memory from childhood of trying to go down one of those huge slides in an amusement park. There I was, just me and my little piece of carpet, and I could not go down. Others would line up behind me, so I would get up and let them pass. Down they went, but I could not. Finally I took myself with carpet down the up ladder in defeat. I have been down the up ladder many times since in my approach to life. Channeled has having a goal of Growth with a mode of Caution, it does seem that I drive myself with the brakes on. I am also interested in anyones' sense of their own soul age, any level, and how it feels to be on that level. There is this section in Yarbro's book MICHAEL FOR THE MILLINEUM, which delineates each fragment of a specific role and their journey through their lives ending with the 7th level Old. It reads like cosmic shorthand, but is enlightening about karmic debts being paid, evolution, etc.Thanks Ken, for a brief moment to see through your eyes.

Observation mode sliding to caution and power. Observation mode isn't very dramatic in itself, just a tendency for me to not commit and stay on the sidelines observing the show. Caution mode has been tough - its kept me from doing all those exciting things that young men do (not that I am young anymore, neither in body or soul age). I remember flunking boy scouts and being frozen in my body when forced into a physical confronatation. Worst memory is my best friend being beaten up by the nieghborhood bully and me just standing there - frozen, with only my intellectual center running with a feeble attempt at reason. The caution mode memories are probably the most painful. Interesting because what has kept me from being injured has kept me from experiencing some of the more dramatic physical plane experiences (like getting my teeth knocked out). Hey, I've got all my teeth, only one broken bone, and never ever had a traffic accident. My friend still likes me but the memory of the cowardice pains me. A little tinge of self Karma there. Sliding to power came later. Teaching requires it. Remember, positive pole authority. Power mode helps keep the group together. I slid into the negative last Spring during a stressful situation a the High School, and although it worked to achieve the objective, I never felt good about it. Skeptic with intellectual center keeps me in my head. Question & analyse. What, why, how. I want to understand how things work especially spritual mechanics if there is even such a thing. I also feel like it isolates me from normal social experiences (whatever that is). I get bored with the lack of intellectual stimulation. Cynic is the next attitude on the list and cynic doesn't win friends. Otherwise its 'keep my mouth shut and stay out of trouble, if I talk too much and start revealing my beliefs to this manifestation of a hostile belief system then I am sure to be isolated." Another statement of self Karma. Big message recently from Spirit Land (no, not a subsidiary of Disney) is, "stop the censoring". Growth kept me traveling during the first half of my life but this second half has kept me in one geographic location. Home life is stable but I go through hundreds of relationships, especially now while teaching. Also much of the growth is inner directed (Mars retrograde in the 8th house). I change meditation plans about twice a year. I decided to go with it, must be the plan. Art pursuits have also been hurt by growth. I constantly change mediums and I keep experimenting with styles. I can't seem to stick to one project. Alas, I may have to put away any pretense of making it in the art world as it exists today. Still I go along with the program, the changes seem to provide the growth I need. Process rather than product. And finally (for now) Intellectual center moving trap. Dealing with an emotional problem does not mean going on a bike ride and thinking about it. The bike ride may ease the stress but it doesn't complete the emotional issue. No, Jesus warned us that he was the way (THE TAO) and onlythrough him...(THE TAO) would we move on...Nowhere does Jesus say that those who commit the sins you mention will not inherit the kingdom of God...All those things you mention are part of the human experience and if any are practiced by taking away another's choice, then appropriate penance will be paid, but not as you imply. We all pay the piper and move on, so to speak:-) It's a long journey.

I work in a bastion of young souled southern baptists, here in Texas. Discussing anything remotely metaphysical creates the most amazing amount of fear and distrust. It is such a lesson to be a part of. So, when I started to be fairly open about my beliefs (ok, so I still use the word "intuitive" instead of "channeled") there was the predictable fear movement. What surprises me is how many people have sort of snuck out of the closet to ask me questions, and ask with this sincere desire to understand something of a bigger picture. It's worth the risk.
