Are Ghosts Real?

Channeling About Ghosts and Hauntings
(The Paranormal)

Are Ghosts Real

Are ghosts real? The history of ghosts could certainly confirm that question. Harrowing tales of ghost sightings have been around since recorded history. On the other hand, tales of knights and dragons, a pantheon of Greek gods, and other folklore have also been passed down throughout history. Deciphering myth from reality is an essential task if one seeks the truth.

The question of "are ghosts real" may not even be something that can be answered using standard scientific methods. Ghosts might exist in realms undetectable by science. In that regard, I asked the Michael Entity for help. The following channeled material addresses commonly asked questions about ghosts. I hope you find it insightful.

Among the frequently asked questions, you'll also find intriguing answers about the compositional structure of ghosts, the effectiveness of ghost hunting equipment, and even Michael's take on dark matter. Enjoy! 👻

Are Ghosts Real?

What are Ghosts

Ghosts are as real as the physical bodies they once inhabited in life. A ghost is simply the departed spirit of a deceased person. We would differentiate a ghost from a spirit using the following criteria: a soul has left the body and relocated to the region known as the astral plane (or afterlife); a ghost, on the other hand, has remained earthbound, invisible to the inhabitants of the physical world, but still not divorced from the vestiges of life and earthly pleasures.

Some ghosts do not know they are dead and wander in a world that ignores them. Others lowered the density of their soul to such a degree that they cannot breach the layers of the higher planes. Souls unwilling to break the vices of physical addiction may find themselves earthbound until they have relinquished the trappings of earthly existence. By the same token, ghosts plagued by anger and fatalistic views may also find themselves temporarily weighed down by their negative associations.

Describe the Compositional Structure of a Ghost

To understand the compositional structure of a ghost, imagine the way a human body casts a shadow on the ground. The shadow, although slightly elongated depending on the position of the sun, outlines the shape of the body. A ghost is like the shadow of a once existing corporeal form.

In the physical world, the closest thing to density that a spiritual being (or ghost) can achieve is that of a shadowy figure — and for the most part, ghosts are rarely seen. They are out of their element in physical realms. The compositional framework of a ghost, then, is light. That light, however, is not electromagnetic in a classical sense. The light source of a ghost is self-sustaining and does not require an outside reserve of energy to draw upon. Thus, the inherent structure of this light is not subject to the laws of the physical universe. This is an illumination of eternal consciousness. It is not bound by an atomic structure or internal organs or anything associated with physical existence. The awareness that IT IS is all the structure it requires to exist.

Because of their earthbound proximity, ghosts vibrate at levels closer to the physical. Pluck the string of a bass violin and the resultant frequency is slower and heavier. You can feel the sound in the air and objects in the room may reverberate in sympathetic vibration. When ghosts are visible, then, it means their energy has started a sympathetic vibration within the physical space they reside in. If a ghost appeared in the center of the room, for instance, the space in that location might suddenly appear to quiver, like a jiggling slab of Jello. This is the locale in the room sympathetically vibrating with the ghost as it penetrates the lower density.

Ghosts often materialize as shadows because their presence in the physical is still at a higher vibration, and any demarcations of their energy cannot be clearly defined. What remains is the shadowy outline of an ethereal mass. Individuals that witness a more solid apparition are actually using psychic gifts to flesh out the details. Many ghosts, in fact, are seen psychically and are not witnessed simultaneously by others who lack those gifts.

To illustrate further, a shadow of a ghost is not technically a shadow, where light is shaded by a solid object, but higher density energy that has created a sympathetic vibration in the physical. Like our vibrating bass string, these oscillations move in and out of the physical realm. This shimmering effect gives the semblance of a shadowy image, vibrationally blurring the detail one would expect from an actual person standing in the room.

A similar effect in science would be the way light bends on the horizon. The sun can appear to be above the horizon even after it has geometrically dipped below. For the sun, the light gets refracted by the Earth's atmosphere. With a ghost, the spectral image is bent to such a degree that only a black static (or what appears to be a shadow) can be seen. Thinking of our bass string again, the oscillations of a ghost's vibrations moving in and out of physical reality are what cause this shadowy diffusion occasionally sighted by frightened individuals.

What kind of light is not electromagnetic?

Electromagnetic forms of light all radiate an energy that can be measured. Ghost light, if you will, sometimes referred to as a light body, does not radiate electromagnetic energy nor does it require an infusion of energy to sustain itself. As mentioned earlier, the soul is eternal, a spark from the Tao that exists in all things.

To elaborate, all energy beyond the realm of the physical universe is not subject to the cycle of decay that operates in the physical world. In order for the physical to exist, it must be constantly recycled. All forms eventually decay and transform into something new. Everything is in a state of flux. This is the linear progression of time at work. As time passes, everything changes.

Beyond the temporal laws of the physical, however, all forms of energy are in a state of equilibrium. The push/pull of the physical universe, where things age and there's a breakdown of matter, is not a law in the spiritual planes.

An example would be the delicate membrane of a soap bubble drifting on a current of air. With many environmental forces pushing and pulling the ephemeral wall of the bubble, a weakness eventually develops in the structure and it collapses. On the other hand, a bubble in the spiritual dimensions, where no outside force degrades the wall, could conceivably exist forever.

Thus, the light of a spiritual being is in its purest form. Transformation occurs, but it does not come at the expense of physical degradation. Instead, there's an accumulation of wisdom and totality.

I always thought ghosts were white?

When seen psychically, ghosts appear more corporeal and with distinctive features, such as skin tone and clothing — although all ghosts, if viewed, will have a translucent quality, where objects in the background can be seen through them.

Most ghosts are invisible, however, or transparent to such a degree that an observant person might only see a vague outline of them.

As an aside, ghosts are rarely seen as the swirling mists so often depicted in photos and films. Images of this kind are usually doctored in some way and are a hoax.

Could You More Specifically Discuss the Science of Ghosts?

At present, ghosts cannot be compared to anything that modern science would understand. This is even worse than an apples and oranges comparison where the commonality of both objects is that at least they are a fruit.

The energy of a ghost is concentrated awareness. This awareness creates form and shape, thought and emotion, desire and movement; yet, these experiences exist in spiritual realms without the need of a physical body or an adherence to the laws of the physical universe. What would confound science is that a form of life could exist and express itself without a physical apparatus of any kind.

What has gone undiscovered by science is that an eternal spark of consciousness resides in all living things. This spark is undetectable by scientific instruments because it does not contain discernible matter as science would measure it. Physical matter is just a temporary shell for spiritual consciousness. Without spiritual consciousness to animate a living being, the body could not live other than through artificial means.

The scientific reality of ghosts, then, cannot be measured. How can you measure something that does not exist in physical terms?

What About Ghosts Pictures? Can a Ghost Be Photographed?

ghost photos

In general, no. The majority of ghosts are seen in the mind's eye through psychic vision. Since ghosts are not at a low enough vibrational rate to reflect much light, it would be difficult for a conventional camera to capture a photo of one.

Most ghost photos are fraudulent. The same goes for so-called ghost videos.

Given that ghosts lack a physical body or possess the solidity to reflect light, it should come as no surprise that they are not easily detected by the human eye. If a ghost could be frozen into an ice cube, for example, it would possess the solidity to be detected, but ghosts are more akin to the ice cube that has melted and evaporated into the air. This lack of solidity and higher vibrational state makes them invisible.

The shadowy emanations mentioned in an earlier comment, however, could conceivably be captured on film, but we doubt any definitive detail would bleed through. The constant fluctuation in the energy would spoil most results.

Can Ghosts Move Objects or Touch Someone?

As we've alluded to before, ghosts (even those still earthbound) exist at a higher vibrational density than physical plane inhabitants and would not possess the necessary solidity or physical force to effectively move a solid object. Exceptions to the rule would be poltergeist activity or negative alter egos, which draw their energy from a living person. Still, this phenomenon is rare.

Ghosts can, however, influence the mind of a person and persuade them to move an object on their own and forget that they did. This is not a subversive form of mind control, though. A ghost cannot will a person to walk off a cliff, for instance. The influence of a ghost is subtle, and for the most part, it does not have the power to commit karma.

For those that are sensitive, a ghost (or spirit) can enter the aura of a person and that blend of energy may be sensed on some levels. We discussed this process in an earlier piece of channeling. (See Thought Forms & Entities)

What is a Poltergeist?

On an energetic level, a young girl just before entering her menstrual cycle marks a transition into a burgeoning cycle of profound creativity. While the biological mechanism behind this cycle is clearly understood, the potential of breathing life into another human being is an awesome act of creativity, and on certain occasions, these creative urges can seek other avenues of expression before the pre-adolescent is ready to bear a child.

This creative outpouring, when coupled with a child harboring psychic gifts, can create an entity known as a poltergeist. Similar in design to a negative alter ego — but not one fed by a well-defined chief feature — a poltergeist is more playful and akin to the mischievous antics of a child. Poltergeists are an extremely RARE occurrence and only develop under the right conditions.

Favorable circumstances involve a prepubescent female with heightened psychic abilities, a mounting creative energy that seeks a physical outlet, and repressed emotional needs not being met. The poltergeist events are not unlike a childish tantrum. Although the appearance of a poltergeist may frighten the child, on a deeper psychological level, the manifestation is often a cry for attention.

The science behind poltergeist activity is too complex for discussion here, but in simple terms, because a poltergeist is a manifestation of an incarnate being firmly grounded in the physical, the energy available to manipulate physical objects is much stronger than what a non-physical entity could draw from. The physical body of the person that generates the poltergeist acts as a battery that fuels the paranormal activity.

Most poltergeist activity fades at the start of the menstrual cycle. The creative energy now has a more appropriate means of expression.

Can Departed Souls Return After Death to Show Loved Ones That They Still Exist?

Recently departed souls DO appear to loved ones quite often, normally in the guise of a lucid dream or other means of connection that would be meaningful to the loved one. No rules govern these visitations, although, for most astral fragments, meaningful contact is easier when ties to the recent life are still strong. You could equate it to having one foot in the physical while the other is tentatively finding its footing on the other side. At this point, the allegiance to either side is still divided.

Understand that if contact was simple and the bridge between both worlds was easily crossed, frequent materializations and voice contact from the other side would be commonplace. Life after death would no longer be the great unanswered question.

Departed loved ones are indeed interested in what's happening to their still incarnate family members and friends. Out of compassion for those left behind, though, they often encourage them to move on with their lives.

A love connection established during a lifetime remains just as strong in the afterlife. In fact, it becomes even stronger. Expressions of love removed from the shackles of false personality resonate more powerfully than ever could be imagined while still physical. The love now flows without the limiting impedance of conditions, expectations, or other demands fueled by fearful thinking (or chief features).

What are Hauntings?

hauntings

A traditional definition would describe a haunting as any location (such as a house or abandoned cemetery) where paranormal activity is present, often precipitated by the appearance of ghosts.

In actuality, most hauntings can be explained in more conventional ways, such as the groan of air in old pipes, the rustling of rodents behind the wall space, and a variety of other explanations. In some cases, however, a particular location may be imprinted with an emotional residue that leaves behind a psychic rendering of an emotionally charged event that once occurred in that location.

Psychically sensitive people occasionally tune-in to these dramatic presentations, which show ghostly images of people in period costumes, reacting to a scene unfolding around them and seemingly undeterred by the presence of an earthly audience. These hauntings are like playing a tape loop of an emotionally charged event from the past. The performers are long since dead but the re-enactment continues unabated, the intensity of the scene etched into the ethereal fabric of the location, gradually fading with the passage of time.

The phenomena bears similarity to the epochal layers mentioned in another channeling (see afterlife), but these echoes are not as deeply set on the physical.

What Role Do Negative Alter Egos Play in Hauntings?

Negative alter egos, those formations of false personality that fixate on the unsavory parts of the personality, can on rare occasions take on a life of their own, manifesting as disembodied spirits with a primitive form of cognitive awareness. These manifestations, feeding off the energy output of their host, can wreak havoc on those with psychic sensitivities, often masking themselves as those unruly ghosts depicted in tales about the supernatural.

Negative alter egos are the product of a diseased mind. They're not as easily ignored as earthbound spirits, but they can be handled by identifying their source and creating distance between the individual or shutting down any psychic receptors that are attracting the manifestation. Can Ghosts Attack You?

Yes — but their efforts are largely ineffective.

Lacking all semblance of physicality, a ghost cannot harm a human being in any demonstrative way. Some earthbounds, however, delight in planting suggestions into the minds of the living, and spiritual attachment is a nuisance for some, especially with impressionable minds easily swayed with thoughts that don't reflect the true nature of their personality. Overall, though, ghosts are mostly harmless.

Ignoring their presence is the simplest way to get rid of them. They feed off the reactions their presence creates. Break that food chain, so to speak, and they will move on to a more willing meal. Like most people in life, ghosts hate to be ignored.

Are Ghost Orbs, Those Strange Orbs Found in Photographs, Authentic Spirits?

While it may intrigue one to imagine these ubiquitous orbs as spiritual emanations of a disembodied being, the orbs are, in fact, nothing more than dust particles, airborne water droplets, and flying insects illuminated by the flash of the camera. When the objects travel too close to the camera lens, they become distorted and appear out of focus. The optical anomaly can be easily replicated.

As mentioned earlier, ghost do not possess the solidity or reflectivity to be seen, and this includes through the use of cameras and videos, as well. A common misconception is that a camera can capture objects not detectable by the human eye. This may be true in long exposures but the average camera collects photons (or light waves) in the same way the human eye does. If the ghost does not emit or reflect light, neither a human nor a camera will see it.

Are Ghost Hunters (or Paranormal Investigators) Finding Real Ghosts with Their Equipment?

Regarding ghost hunters and their electronic equipment, we must reiterate that ghosts (including the human soul) are not bound by the laws of classical physics, nor do they amass form using an atomic structure of any kind. The physical plane requires such assemblies of atoms and electromagnetism to hold everything together. All forms on the physical are also temporal and eventually degrade into something else. This does not occur on the higher planes of existence.

Thus, ghost hunting equipment that looks for electromagnetic fluctuations will not find a ghost — ghosts are not electromagnetic.

Ghost hunting equipment that captures images or records audio will not find a ghost — ghosts do not emit or reflect light waves, nor do they possess physical vocal cords necessary to generate the sound of a human voice.

The best use of ghost hunting equipment, as we see it, is to detect natural physical plane phenomena.

Is Dark Matter, the Still Undiscovered Particle Sought After by Astrophysicists, Related to the Paranormal?

The existence of dark matter is, of course, hotly deliberated in the world of science. How can something that takes up most of the universe go undetected? Part of the elusiveness of dark matter is that your scientists are searching for the wrong thing. Dark matter is not a mysteriously undetectable particle or even related to baryonic material at all (such as protons and neutrons). Dark matter is a non-binding, non-reflective substance that occupies every possible nook and cranny in space.

For theoretical purposes, imagine dark matter as a fluid-like property (although it is not liquid) that fills the ever expanding elastic bubble known as the universe, giving shape and form to this great expanse. Celestial bodies literally float on this uniformly distributed matter, drifting through space like a raft on the ocean. In essence, dark matter holds everything together. Without it, the universe would unceremoniously collapse. The old analogy of liquid sea is an apt descriptor here.

Another parallel could be drawn using microbiology. Dark matter could be compared to the intracellular fluid in a cell. Your universe is just one cell in a multi-verse of other cells, all connected together in a larger body of infinite universes and dimensions.

To answer the last part of the question, no, dark matter has nothing to do with the compositional framework of ghosts or the paranormal.
